UBC is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2024 Wall Fellowships and Wall Research Awards, funded by the $100M+ Peter Wall Endowment and valued at $4M annually. These recipients represent a wide array of scholarly programs that will generate meaningful solutions to major sustainability challenges in BC and around the world.

UBC’s 2025 Wall Fellowships and Wall Research Awards competitions have launched, focusing on research and scholarly activity in identified areas relating to sustainability in British Columbia. This suite of awards represents one of the largest internal award programs at any university in North America. It supports the research and scholarly activities of tenured and tenure-track faculty members at all stages of their career, as well as those of master’s and doctoral students.
The Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies is pleased to announce the re-appointment of Dr. Henry Yu to serve as Principal of St. John’s College (SJC) for a five-year term effective January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2029. This appointment follows a review of Dr. Yu’s performance as Principal to-date, and the larger SJC ecosystem.
Faculty and staff are invited to nominate UBC alumni for their professional and community contributions through the alumni UBC Achievement Awards. These awards recognize excellence, leadership, and innovation in achievements and contributions to the social, cultural, and economic well-being of society, which positively reflect on the university.Learn more about the awards, eligibility, criteria, and process and submit your nomination by February 14.
