Meet the winter recipients of the 2023 Partnership Recognition and Exploration Fund

This winter, Partnership Recognition and Exploration (PRE) funding was awarded to 15 collaborative community-university initiatives, showcasing the diverse ways in which communities are partnering with UBC students, faculty and staff in Vancouver and the Okanagan.
Receiving up to $1,500 each, some of the most recently funded community-university projects are working to:
- combat ageism through theatre and performance by creating a TikTok series featuring older local actors;
- raise awareness around non-visual participation in the art world through an expert panel discussion;
- help First Nations to restore land along the Fraser Watershed by facilitating knowledge sharing and partnership development; and
- enrich the home literacy environment for families with elementary-aged children in the Okanagan.
The PRE Fund aims to boost collaboration and relationship building, as well as empower community partners to build reciprocal relationships with UBC faculty, staff, and students. Applications reopen in May 2024.
