Meet the spring recipients of UBC’s 2024 Partnership Recognition and Exploration Fund

This year, the Partnership Recognition and Exploration (PRE) Fund opened in May and has already provided funding for 16 community-university projects in Vancouver and the Okanagan. This fund aims to boost collaboration and relationship building, as well as empower community partners to build reciprocal relationships with UBC students, faculty, and staff.   

The successful initiatives include: the North Cascades Grizzly Bear Summit, training for peers who support burn survivors, Tla’amin Nation’s caretaking to replace sentimental belongings lost by male elders who are residential school survivors and a queer zine fair during Kelowna Pride Week.

    Participate in Orange Shirt Day on Sept. 30

    Applications for 2024 Thrive Grants open until Oct. 7

    Grants worth $300 are available for faculty and staff in Vancouver and the Okanagan who wish to host events that promote mental health during November, which is Thrive month at UBC. During the annual, month-long mental health initiative the UBC community is encouraged to learn about, talk about, and explore ways to support our mental health.
