I am pleased to announce that Adam Charania has been appointed Interim Vice-President, Human Resources, beginning April 1, 2024.
Adam joined UBC in 2020 as Associate Vice-President, Human Resources (Strategic Advisory Partnerships and Support Services). During his time at the university he has provided leadership for several HR teams: Employee and Labour Relations, Advisory Services, Faculty Relations, Academic Leadership Development Program, Housing, Immigration, and Relocation Services. He is also the current president of the Human Resources Association of Universities in Western Canada.
I would like to once again thank our outgoing Vice-President, Human Resources, Marcia Buchholz, for all her contributions to UBC. We wish her well in the next phase of her career.
Looking ahead, I am pleased to be working with Adam, as he joins UBC’s Executive. Please join me in welcoming him to this new role.
