Describe what you do at UBC in 10 words or less :
I implement strategies to increase physical activity and support wellbeing.
Tell us about the team you work with – what do they do?
I work with the Office of Physical Activity and supervise the Move U Crew. Our goal is to contribute to improving wellbeing through increasing physical activity. We offer lots of free services such as movement breaks, workshops, physical activity coaching sessions, virtual fitness classes, and lots of other resources to help get you or your class/group moving. Be sure to check us out!
What trait do you most admire in others?
Kindness to others. The people I admire most in this world are those who are kind. It doesn't take much to be kind and can be as simple as a smile to a stranger. The impacts go a long way!
What do you do regularly to invest in your mental and/or physical health?
I find that I mentally and physically feel best when I am physically active throughout my day! It doesn't take much to reap the benefits of movement. Even a five-minute stretch break or a walk around the block makes my body feel better, my mind happier, and I find it helps make me more productive. Makes sense why I do the work I do!
