Announcing the recipients of UBC Okanagan's Staff Awards of Excellence

Congratulations to the recipients of UBC Okanagan's 2022 Staff Awards of Excellence. 

At last month’s Principal and Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s Town Hall, a number of staff were recognized for their outstanding service to the university.

This year, six awards were given out in the following categories: Advancing Anti-Racism and Inclusive Excellence, Enhancing the UBC Experience, Leadership, Global Citizenship, Okanagan Campus Spirit, and Wellbeing.

    Participate in Orange Shirt Day on Sept. 30

    Every year on Sept. 30, people across Canada wear orange and participate in Orange Shirt Day events to recognize and raise awareness about the history and consequences of the residential school system in Canada. It is an opportunity for everyone to engage with the legacies of the residential school system and show their solidarity.

    Applications for 2024 Thrive Grants open until Oct. 7

    Grants worth $300 are available for faculty and staff in Vancouver and the Okanagan who wish to host events that promote mental health during November, which is Thrive month at UBC. During the annual, month-long mental health initiative the UBC community is encouraged to learn about, talk about, and explore ways to support our mental health.
