To welcome our new President, Dr. Benoit-Antoine Bacon, as he begins his role on November 1, share a warm greeting and your best tips on navigating life at UBC. Let’s hear about your favourite lunchtime walking spot, a unique collaborative working space, the best eateries, where to find Indigenous art, a career development program or funding opportunity you enjoyed participating in, what campus tours you recommend, or your favourite museum or theatre. We look forward to sharing your insights.

What you need to do: 

  • Complete this form and submit your welcome message by October 20  
  • Include your name, Unit/Department/Faculty, and location. 

We will review all submissions and share a gallery of messages on UBC Today on November 1, Dr. Bacon's first day.

    Participate in Orange Shirt Day on Sept. 30

    Every year on Sept. 30, people across Canada wear orange and participate in Orange Shirt Day events to recognize and raise awareness about the history and consequences of the residential school system in Canada.     Applications for 2024 Thrive Grants open until Oct. 7

    Grants worth $300 are available for faculty and staff in Vancouver and the Okanagan who wish to host events that promote mental health during November, which is Thrive month at UBC. During the annual, month-long mental health initiative the UBC community is encouraged to learn about, talk about, and explore ways to support our mental health.
