A message from Rob Einarson, Associate Vice-President, Finance and Operations, UBC Okanagan; and Michael White, Associate Vice-President, Campus + Community Planning
Dear colleagues,
We are writing today to invite you to learn about the draft transportation plan for the UBC Okanagan campus, and encourage you to provide feedback.
The UBC Okanagan Transportation Plan comes at a pivotal time in supporting the transportation needs of a growing campus with more students, faculty and staff, and is a crucial part of UBC’s response to the climate emergency. Reducing emissions is a central theme of UBC’s Climate Action Plan that is being finalized in parallel with the transportation plan.
The transportation plan is focused on strategies that include advocating for better transit, improving cycling facilities, making carpooling more accessible, increasing support for remote working and learning and reducing the need to travel off-campus for housing, services and amenities.
