Fall photo

The change in season gives many of us a reason to pause and reflect – whether it inspires an appreciation for fall colours, delicious food, time spent with friends and family, or simply the start of something new, we all bring our unique points of view.

A few weeks ago, we asked you – our faculty and staff community – to share a snapshot of what this season symbolizes for you.  A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to send us a photo and share their comments and captions.

And now, without further ado, take a moment to enjoy the unique visual reflections submitted by your fellow colleagues.

The Fall season means cold hands, warm rain-proof jackets, sandy boots, but refreshing walks along the beach to take in the misty view of the ocean and trees.

Maple kiss
Exactly one year ago, during the onset of fall in the first week of October 2020, I met my boyfriend Gary. He has been with me in my good and bad days since then, and life has been so much better. This fall means kindness and love that we share with each other. Kudos to 1 year.

Red leaf
I love the cool fall weather when I can walk around outside and marvel at nature. I found this perfect maple leaf sitting on a pile of rock just after some rain and thought it look so beautiful for something that hadn't been staged at all and just fell that way.

mushrooms
I always look forward to finding mushrooms in the fall. As the rest of my garden dies, the mushrooms come to life. This image was taken in Pacific Spirit Park, and reminds me of the circle of life.
